Tabernacle of Praise

Our Senior Pastor Oscar and his wife Sis. Erin Rodrigues have meant so much to Tabernacle of Praise for decades.  Pastor Oscar was sent to Manteca all the way from Portugal with the intentions of training as the Assistant Pastor to then Pastor, Bishop Richardson.  

During that time he married Sis. Erin Chapman and soon after, they had two children, Levy and Lily.  The Rodrigues family was appointed as missionaries to Portugal after Bro. Rodrigues assisted  Pastor Richardson for 12 total years.  The Rodrigues family returned as Pastor to the church he was raised in.  

After overseeing the country of Portugal for 8 years, establishing a flourishing work of united churches in Portugal and training many pastors and ministers to continue the work, the Rodrigues family was voted in as Senior Pastors of Tabernacle of Praise and have returned to Manteca, Ca.

After serving as Pastor of Tabernacle of Praise for 40 years, Gordon Richardson and his wife Sandie are now retired.  Bishop and Sis. Richardson remain a valuable assistance for Senior Pastor and Sis. Rodrigues in a supportive role.

Bishop Richardson has served in the Western District of the UPCI in many capacities.  He has served on the  Youth Board, The Sunday School Board, as North American Missions Secretary for 5 years, and finally as North American Missions Director for 5 years.

His former pastors have been David F. Gray of San Diego, Berl Stevenson of El Cajon and Paul Price whom he assisted for 5 years in Napa. Bro. Richardson is a 45 year Bible teacher and specializes in Evangelism. He delivers powerful messages, spiritual direction and guidance to develop new converts, young ministers and leaders. Assistant Pastor Robert & Sis. Crystal Rodela began faithfully serving as Youth Pastors at Tabernacle of Praise shortly after they were married in 2013.  During that time they worked very closely with Pastor Richardson.

After establishing a decade long track record of unwavering faithfulness,dependability and great work ethic Bro. Robert Rodela was officially named Assistant Pastor by Senior Pastor Oscar Rodrigues upon his installation at Tabernacle of Praise.
